Love Month Crafts

Any holiday is a great excuse for crafting and fun activities. 

I swear having kids has made holidays and simple activities 100 times better.

I love seeing things through their eyes and experiencing all the fun with them. 

The littlest is finally at an age where she is understanding what we are doing and having as much fun as the rest of us with it. 

Teacher gifts were tiny succulents that we potted in mason jars that they painted themselves.

Little man handed out some sweet heart glasses to his pals at school. 

Assembling valentines can be rough on a parent, but this guy signed everyone and helped tape them all. 

Little miss chose bracelets of course, she matched all the colors and taped them all herself. 

So fun! 

Lastly just a little fun last minute craft for the grandparents far far away. 

Since we don't get to see them as often we decided Valentines Day was a good time to send some hugs their way. 

We'll be celebrating this weekend with a family date and hopefully early bedtime!

Valentine's Wreath

Who doesn't love crafts and crafts with girlfriends?

We were trying to switch up the typical drinks and dinner girls night and we decided since Valentines Day was coming up lets craft!

Searching Pinterest we found a few we each liked and thought this one would be easy enough.

Lets just say there needs to be a comments section for those who have tried the pins and want to give feed back. Easy enough craft, cheap, but took FOREVER! So beware when attempting and planning a girls night. Either plan about four hours or to take home an unfinished product. 

Anyway onto the craft.

Items needed:

Foam wreath form

yarn

ribbon

scrapbook paper

scissors 

hot glue (or other strong hold glue)

Step 1- wrap your form in yarn (this was the time consuming part)

Step 2- Glue two separate pieces of yarn across the center

Step 3- Cut out heart shapes and make pinwheels.

Below I showed how we constructed our pinwheels (took the easy way out and stapled them together)

Step 4- Hot glue the hearts across the yarn and the pinwheels on the front of the form.

With the colors we chose this wreath can last into Spring.

So go grab some girlfriends and a bunch of snacks/drinks and get to wrapping.

Ghost Snack

Now that both littles are feeling much better we needed a Halloween pick me up! Yesterday we were off to the costume store to purchase this years duds! Of course Kai changed his mind once he saw what was available, and little miss was no help picking hers out. So of course mommy had to decide. 

Once home I HAD to carry on the Halloween fun with an after nap treat! 

Ghost snack- frozen white chocolate bananas to be exact.

A little melted white chocolate, milk chocolate eyes, and some paper straws for handles- Voila!

Probably the best part of Easter!

Its so fun to pick out baskets and little bits to add to them.

DIY Mini Mani

I'm a polish girl!! Love love love getting my nails done and how I love gel nails just as much as well any girl, I can't budget it all the time! Due to my job as a Hygienist and a mama my hands are always being washed, this means wet nails and more chipping!! I've been painting my own nails for sometime now and I've only recently come across this gem- Orly Bonder

This guy works wonders for lasting color! Now I don't get as long of a wear as I'd like, it does work better than any lightless "gel" like polishes I've used and it's cheaper!! Go get you some!! 

Basically my mini mani is just what it is- quick. 

1-I paint on Orly Bonder, let dry for about 2 min.

2-Paint 2 thin coats of color of choice- I used my new Essie Bikini So Tiny.

3-Then top coat- I like Essie No Chips Ahead.

Lastly I use a cuticle oil as often as I remember. It helps fight dryness from had washing and polish remover. This is my favorite-

Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil

Final product!! I think I'll keep it! 

Seeing as I have work and dishes ahead of me this will only last maybe 4 days but that just means I get to play with another color!!

BE CRAFTY WORKSHOP

Be Crafty finally came!!

I have been waiting for this day for months!!

Literally- me and a few friends signed up back in January for the craft workshop!

I found out about Be Crafty Workshop one day surfing around Instagram.

I came across a post from Amanda Rydell from BeCrafty - and I jumped at the opportunity.

The Felt Flower brooch- This served as our name tags for the event

It was filled with such adorable prints, thank you cards, washi tape, pom pom flowers, notebook, felt confetti, and more!!!

The crafts we made were-

- Hoop fabric wrapped project- turned into chalk board art

- Ampersand with crepe paper flowers

- Flower cabochon magnets

They gave us this cute card with chalk art tips/tricks

I still have yet to decide what quote I want to put on mine!!

This was some serious business

Here's my Ampersand with my flowers- I have yet to wrap the whole thing in yarn!!

The whole day was so fun!!

Getting to go with friends and meet a bunch of other sweet crafty women was the best!!

This was totally up my alley and I am so glad I snagged a ticket and went!

Mama Mail

I have met the most awesome people through social media!

Other mamas with the same interests as me and with such kind hearts! Oddly enough I feel like I actually now them, even though we have never met! I would consider them some of my best friendships. We are walking this crazy stage of life together and may it be advice or words of encouragement, I need it!

One mama I met through a swap mail that we each signed up for- Mom mail exchange!

Hey Kerri!!

We were matched up together for each of our first months signed up. You would get paired with another mama and exchange info to get to know each other. After a few months of matching up and exchanging gifts the mom mail got canceled. Luckily for me, Kerri contacted me wanting to continue swapping each month, with ME. Although I did enjoy meeting new moms each month, Kerri and I were the best match we had. Of all the moms I got paired with, we had the most in common. 

So now we swap "Mama Mail" with each other each month. We carried over some of the same guidelines from the mom mail exchange- $30 limit including shipping and monthly themes. 

Although we recently raised the limit to $40 because this mama cant stay under budget when there are so many cute things to share. 

January was "Favorite Things of 2013"

February- "Valentines Day"

March- "Spring"
