Peaches For Me

Its Peach season!!

The farm down the road from us (Schenpf Farms) has a peach festival two weekends in the month of May. Visitors can enjoy hay rides, music, peach tasting, breakfast of all things peachy, and the best U-Pick peaches. 

We were lucky enough that the dental office I work for was gifted a leased tree for the month of May. How cool is that? 

I planned ahead to go this weekend based on the info we got on the ripeness of the peaches- this weekend would be perfect. Although the weather was perfect the day of- nice and over cast with a cool breeze as so we did not burn in this AZ heat. Mother nature gave us the best storm the night before, leaving us with muddy paths and mosquitos. Of course my little helpers wanted to join in on the "helping" of things too large for them, little miss face planted right into the mud first thing. Mud everywhere!!

That surely did not damper our fun! 

She was all about placing the picked peaches in the boxes and big brother kept trying to pick the largest peach he could find. 

Our shoes were covered in mud, I think we took home 5 pounds, and some of our peaches may be bruised from a little too much excitement in packaging them, but the experience of picking a TON of our own peaches makes them that much sweater. 

Now time to find some recipes to use up all these peaches!!
